Papers in the Turkish National Congress of Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery will be presented orally or by poster (hard copy or e-poster). Abstracts tbe sent from Turkey should be prepared in Turkish. The presentations of these papers will be made in Turkish. Papers tbe sent from abroad can be presented in Turkish or English and the abstracts should be in Turkish or English.

When submitting a paper, author’s choice of the presentation (oral, hardcopy poster or e-poster) and the related sub-field of ENT-HNS specialty should be stated. Paper Committee has the right taccept or reject the paper based on the content of the study and the number of applications, and tchange the form of the presentation and the specialty sub-field in case it accepts. Case presentations will NOT be accepted as oral presentations.

The conditions for the acceptance of the submitted papers as a presentation are given below.

  • The study should be NOT previously presented at any national meeting. It should be NOT published in a national / international journal.

  • The title of the paper should not be more than 12 words and should reflect exactly the content of the study.
  • Name-surname, title, institution and city of the authors should be clearly indicated with the title. However, the abstract should not include any sentence tintroduce the institution or the researchers except those. Expressions translated intTurkish should be preferred.
  • If the author, whis the first name on the paper and whwill present the paper, leaves the institution where he/she made and completed the study, he/she should indicate the institution where he/she conducted the study as the institution name and his/her new institution as the correspondence address.
  • The contact details and especially the e-mail address tbe provided during online registration should be an updated and regularly monitored address. Communication with authors, including acceptance of papers, will be conducted through this e-mail address.
  • The researcher tpresent the paper among the researchers whhave prepared the paper should be specified. As a typical application; senior assistants or new specialists (less than 5 years) are expected tpresent their study in which they took part as the first author. However, in the oral presentation or poster discussion sessions, it is preferred thave a senior specialist and / or academic member and / or instructor related tthe study in addition tthe researcher making the presentation.
  • The papers presented at the Congress will be evaluated separately for the awards. Studies that are requested tbe evaluated for the awards (candidates for the awards) should necessarily be SPECIFIED.
  • The studies which have had any project support or any other research support should be specified.
  • If the researchers have any financial interests, they should be explained. If they dnot have, this should alsbe indicated.
  • Abstracts should include the following sections as standard. The contents of each section should be written in the field (window) assigned tit on the online abstract registration page..
  • In poster papers, the author, whwill present the paper, should be available with the paper on the specified day and time and he/she should present the paper tthe evaluation committee tdiscuss.
  • In clinical researches, ethical committee approval should be obtained and should NECESSARILYbe uploaded tthe system.

For the research abstracts:

For the case presentation abstracts:

  • Aim
  • The characteristics of the case (complaints, history, clinical and laboratory findings)
  • Treatment and prognosis
  • Comment (Experience obtained and recommendations)

sections should be included.

  • The purpose of case presentations should be tshare the experience and increase awareness about the cases which are rare and specific. Abstracts which dnot serve this purpose and dnot meet the structured format will not be accepted.
  • The papers which are still ongoing and whose results are not yet obtained, and the studies which dnot include the above-mentioned abstract sections will STRICTLY NOT be taken intconsideration.
  • Tables or graphics should NOT be added tthe abstracts.
  • The main topic of the study among the following main topics (sub-fields of specialty) should be specified during the submission of the paper,

    • Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

  • The paper evaluation board may change the main topic of the paper.
  • Accepted papers cannot be withdrawn after receiving the acceptance letter. The posters which are accepted tbe presented but (can)not be presented will be announced on the congress and associated website at the end of the congress as “NOT PRESENTED” papers.

In case presentations, only the abstracts which are considered tcontribute tthe literature, effect patient management and contain full information about the patient will be accepted, and it will be possible tpresent them ONLY AS POSTER.Poster presentations should provide as much visual information as possible.

THE DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS SEPTEMBER 1, 2020.

Abstracts can only be submitted online by filling out the Online Paper Application Form on the congress website (www.kbb2020.com). Presentations sent via fax, electronic or normal mail or delivered by hand will not be accepted.

The congress participants whwill make their paper presentations verbally in the congress are required tdeliver their presentations tthe presentation control room at least one day before the presentation days stated in the program. Presentations should be prepared with Microsoft Office 2000 or a later software. All kinds of technical equipment (slides, projector, computer, videetc.) will be available in the meeting rooms. In oral presentations, the allocated time for each presentation (presentation and discussion) is 7 minutes in total. That should NOT be exceeded. Visual (picture or vide) and auditory material can be used during oral presentation.

Printed posters should be prepared in dimensions of 70 × 90 cm and should be planned tbe readable from 1.5 meters. Poster authors will, by themselves,hang their posters on the board allocated for their posters in the area reserved for the Poster Discussion session on the dayreported tthem, and then remove in the same way. The material required for poster hanging will be available in the poster area. E-posters will be uploaded online after acceptance.

The author, whwill present the submitted paper in case of acceptance, or the first author should necessarily have the congress registration done before the paper submission deadline of 6 September 2019. Each author whhas deposited the registration fee on time will have the right tbe listed as the first name in maximum one oral, one poster (hardcopy or e-poster) presentation or trecord an abstract of maximum one oral, one poster presentation.

Paper acceptance are executed as a result of referee evaluations.

CD OF THE PAPERS
The abstracts of all studies accepted tbe presented within the scientific program (oral or poster) will be included in the congress abstracts CD.

LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE
All submitted papers will be evaluated by the Paper Evaluation Committee and will be decided on whether they will be accepted for presentation. The first author of the studies accepted for presentation or award application will be sent a letter of acceptance in September 2011 which indicates his/her paper is accepted, and defines the form of presentation (oral or poster). The first author of the papers, which are not accepted, will alsbe sent an informative letter in September 2020.

Since the evaluation process must be completed tsubmit the letter of acceptance; It is recommended that the authors whwish treceive the letter of acceptance earlier must complete their abstracts and, if necessary, the correction procedures earlier.
